In our fast-paced world today, we often forget the importance of patience and taking time to think things through. We want to remind people of the value of creativity and clever thinking, supporting a movement that embraces focus, skill, and understanding over fast production and short-lived trends. This doesn't mean we're against technology, but we're asking for a balance between using technology and the traditional principles of design as a craft.

Description

Luxoviensis is an expressive Merovingian script typeface inspired by the distinctive manuscript hands of the early medieval world. In the 7th and early 8th..centuries, the Monastic centers of Luxeuil, Chelles, & Corbie were where the style of scribal writing called Luxeuil originated. It was a minuscule script (of course my version has capitals improvised).

Irish monk St. Columban founded a scriptorium within the monastery where this hand tradition was started. The abbey was sacked in 732 by an Umayyad raiding party. The other houses carried on the tradition in their distinct forms until eventually the reforms of Charlemagne replaced the house styles with the standard Carolingian miniscule.

Designed for projects that need an atmosphere of antiquity, mystery, faith, and medieval craftsmanship, Luxoviensis works particularly well for book covers, editorial design, posters, album artwork, branding, packaging, titles, invitations, and historical or ecclesiastical projects.

The character set includes extensive Latin and Latin Extended support, with a broad selection of accented characters for multilingual typesetting. Alternate forms provide additional variation, while a collection of medieval-inspired symbols, ornaments, stars, flowers, crosses, and decorative marks allows for further customization.
